StoneWire Rock Band

Sweden with Schenker and partying in Rhodes. What a month!

And we have new t-shirts too, this time also in the ladies variety!

What a few weeks of fun and mayhem we've had here in the StoneWire camp! Firstly the honour of supporting the Michael Schenker Group on the Swedish leg of the Lovedrive Reunion Tour and then two weeks of what can only be described as the utterly magical experience that is Rhodes Rock.

Our time in Sweden was simply amazing. What a wonderful (all be it expensive) country full of wonderful people! And man do they know how to rock! We were so well received it was like playing to a home crowd every single night and we'll jump at the chance to go back as soon as an opportunity arises. We left Sweden with a lot of new friends and a lot of great memories... if only we had made it home okay! Eventually we did... 3 vans, 4 stranded nights and 2 tragically dead deer later... it was a true story of the highs and lows of being on the road in a rock n roll band! But just a few sleep filled days later we were setting off again - destination Rhodes!

The two weeks playing at Rhodes Rock Festival was a magical experience. We made some great new friends in Four Wheel Drive and Prezence as well as hooking up with our old friends in Towers of Stone and Stone Free. And of course we got to party once more with the crazy Rhodes Rockers! All such amazing people.

We got to play a very special show at the Ancient Amphitheatre to a packed crowd on a completely magical night that will live long in our memories and our hearts. And then something very special happened as well... 5 bands holed up in a hotel for two weeks bonded like something we've never experienced before and led to what must have been two of the greatest jam nights ever to be staged anywhere ever! It was a pleasure and an honour to be part of it all.

On one last note - we now have available brand new men's t-shirts, ladies t-shirts and ladies vests for sale for just 10 quid each - if you are interested please message us via the contact us page (until we get our Merch page up and running) and we'll get stuff straight out to you.

So what next for StoneWire? - well, finishing that album of course! We're going to be working hard in the studio over the coming months but will see you out on the road towards the end of 2013 fired up and ready to rock once more.

Work on the Album begins in earnest!

And Gaz... welcome to StoneWire!

Posted on 8th of November 2012 12:00 by

A huge thanks to all of you who have been in contact with us to find out when we'll be playing in a town near you - your continued support is both humbling and inspiring. We thrive on it. Rest assured we will get out on the road and to a town near you as soon as we can.

The bad news is that we're trying to keep the gigs down a bit over the coming months. The good news is that this is because we are starting to really get cracking on writing and recording our first full album. We're really excited about how things are going and with the material that is flowing fresh and fast. At this rate the album will be out and hitting your ears faster than you can say "rock n roll, baby!"

One last thing, those of you who have seen us at a show recently may have noticed a tall hairy creature roaming the stage like a colossus with a guitar! This is nothing to be alarmed about! It is merely the latest addition to our line-up! We would like to officially welcome Gaz to StoneWire. With gigs already under his belt and new songs in the bag Gaz is fast becoming part of the unit, one of the family, that is StoneWire.

Perhaps we'll see you at our next gig in Southampton on the 30th November when we will be joining our good friends Stone Free at The Firehouse. Can't wait!

What's that? Come and play up north? Oh, alright then! StoneWire are excited to announce that we will be playing two double header shows in the Midlands this October in what promises to be one hell of a weekend! And we can't bloody wait!

First up we have Derby Demolition where we will be playing on the opening night with an absolute juggernaut of a band in Four Wheel Drive. You will not want to miss this so come down to The Hairy Dog in Derby on Friday 19th October for what will surely be a night to remember. For tickets and further details please contact Classic Rock Tours at [email protected] . In years to come this could be a true "I was there" night!

Then, next up, we will be at the prestigious Queens Hall in Nuneaton with the really very awesome and good friends of ours Towers of Stone . There can be no doubt that this will be a night of heavy rock of the very highest calibre so we hope to see you all there on the 20th October to join us in a few beverages and some good old rocking fun.

Rhodes Rockers are all mental! A Thank You Message!

Two weeks of sun, sand, sea and the best Rock party in the world!

Posted on 15th of July 2012 11:00 by

We would like to take this opportunity to thank, from the bottom of our hearts, Eddie, Elaine and everyone involved in organising Rhodes Rock, for inviting us along and letting us be part of such an amazing event. You can't explain it, you can't describe it... you can only experience it to understand. We would strongly recommend that everyone who reads this signs up for next year and becomes part of the Rhodes Rock Family because it's quite probably the best Rock holiday in the world.

The people, the music, the place, the bars, the JD, the sun, the sea and every single Rhodes Rocker make for one hell of a couple of weeks... we had an absolute blast! The shows we played out there were simply incredible, what an amazing audience! Jamming with our new friends Ben Poole, Stone Free and Towers of Stone led to some magical moments. We met such amazing people and we'd to thank you all for welcoming us into the family... we'll never forget some of those crazy party nights! The whole experience will live long in the memory and will always be very special to us.

Come back soon to see more pictures that will hopefully help us share a tiny part of the magic with you if you weren't there and will certainly bring back great memories if you were. We'll be looking to book gigs country wide from now on to re-acquaint ourselves with you amazing Rhodes Rockers as soon as possible, so if you want to see StoneWire in a town near you and know of a suitable venue or two please let us know via the contact us page on this Website or give us a like and send us a message on Facebook and we'll do our best to get something arranged asap. Keep rockin' people.

Legends of Rock - what a weekend!

Bring on Lindos! - we can't wait!

Posted on 16th of March 2012 12:00 by StoneWire

Well, yes, it has taken a full week to recover! What a weekend it was! Good bands, good music, good beer, good people - we had a blast! 3 gigs, a couple of jams, a whole lotta partying and making a tonne of new friends has really whet our appetites for the main event - Rock in Rhodes!

We'd like to thank you all for coming to see our sets, for listening to our originals, for buying the EP and T-Shirt and for generally being the most awesome bunch of people you could ever hope to spend a weekend with... the support you showed us was very much appreciated. And another thanks to the Yates clan for putting on such a well organised and rockin' event and for letting us be part of it.

Lastly, thanks for all the feedback we have received since we got back, it has been over-whelming. We absolutely can't wait to rock out with you all again in Lindos, it's going to be, well... rockin'! See you there!

Happy New Year!

Here's to a rockin' 2012!

Posted on 30th of December 2011 12:00 by StoneWire

What a year it's been for us! We launched the website, made the EP, recorded a video, went on tour to Germany, met many great people and made a load of new friends. But of course, most importantly, we had an absolutely rockin' time!.

So this is a big THANK YOU to all who supported us over the year with their help and time. Thanks to all the venues we played. Thanks to everyone who bought our EP and thanks to everyone for coming to our gigs. You are the ones who made 2011 awesome and without each and every one of you we wouldn't have had half as much fun!

So now it's time to bring on 2012! It already looks to be another great one. Work on the album has started and we will be lauching a band blog so watch this space. We have some great gigs lined up and we can't wait to get out there hard and loud and in your face! So, here is to a fantastic 2012, hope all your dreams come true and catch you on the road sometime.

Rich's road changes direction

A fond farewell

Posted on 18th of December 2011 12:00 by StoneWire

It is with great sadness that we must announce that our Rhythm Guitarist and good friend Rich has parted ways with StoneWire. Rich has been a massive part of everything we have done and achieved over our first year and he will be sadly missed.

This parting of ways has come about due to personal reasons and other commitments. We at StoneWire would like to wish him the very best in all that the future brings. Rich will always be a huge part of the story of this band and to top it all off...genuinely the nicest guy you could ever hope to meet.

As for StoneWire, we'll continue on in the only way we know, rocking out loud and in your face in 2012. Whatever the year ahead brings it promises to be a blast.

So for now, have a great Christmas and a Merry New Year. All that remains to say to sign off a great 2011 is a heartfelt and very fond farewell to Rich, all the best for the future mate.
